CECILE Limited (‘Être Cécile’, ‘Être Petite’, ‘We’, ‘EC’, ‘the Website’, ‘the Store’, ’EC Services’) is wholly committed to protecting the privacy and security of the Site’s visitors and customers. We take your privacy and security very seriously and we will not disclose information about our customers to third parties except where it is part of providing a service to you – e.g. arranging for a product to be sent to you, carrying out credit and other security checks and for the purposes of customer research and profiling or where we have your express permission to do so.

If you are under 13, you must inform a parent or guardian about our Privacy Policy and receive their permission to use the Site and register, subscribe or place an order with Us.

Information Collection
We collect personal information about you when you use the Website for browsing and purchasing, signing up to our newsletter online and instore, register for an account, place an order, interact with us through social media, click on an advert that we put on our or someone else’s website, ask for information or assistance, attend an event that we run or sponsor; enter competitions or special promotions.

1.  Information You Provide to Us
When you use the EC Services, we may ask you to provide specific personal information to obtain our products or use our services. For example, if you make a purchase from us, you will be required to provide your name, telephone number, billing address, delivery address, email address and credit card details (such as CVV, expiration date, and billing address) and other payment details (such as via PayPal or Apple Pay), depending on the form of payment you choose. EC will also ask for your name, date of birth and email address when you register for an EC account. We may ask for your details when you would like to return items from our Store or online (e.g. name, email address, order number). A unique order number is generated for every purchase with customer details. 

You may also give us your personal information when you fill in forms on the Website or at the Store, or when you correspond with us on Social Media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram; and also when you register to subscribe to our newsletters and transactional emails, when you enter into our competitions, giveaways and other promotions, or when you participate in our Social Media activities.

You might also provide information about a Third Party. For example, when you would like to send a gift to a friend and share their name, address, email or telephone number. In this case, the purchaser is responsible for the data she/he has provided.

2. Information Collected Automatically
Whenever you browse or interact with the EC Website or the Social Media channels, a variety of technical information is collected (with cookies, pixels and ad tags) about your online activities. This includes the Internet protocol address (IP), browser version and type, operating platform or system, number of visits to websites, Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream with the date and time, products you have checked or searched, page visiting time, page interaction information (e.g. clicks, scrolling), time zone, session times, order information, visit numbers. 3. Information Received from Others (Third Parties)
We work with many Third Party companies, and we use the information received from the third parties to maintain the accuracy of the information we collect, to measure the ad quality and responses, to personalise the brand experience and service, target our communications so that we can inform you offers, products, events and services you might be interested in; for general business purposes such as logistics and delivery, and strategic planning of our business. 

If you chose not to consent to give us any of the information above, you may be unable to buy from the Être Cécile Website.

The Use of the Information Collected
We use the information held in different ways. 
Operational Purposes and Customer Service

  • Fulfil your orders and order requests, to make sure you receive your order safely (delivery), confirmation of your order and return
  • Manage your registration and accounts
  • Provide customer service, respond to your questions, feedback 
  • Notify you about changes and updates on the Website, your Order, our service and  our terms and conditions
  • Verify your identity or communicate with you about your activities when you forgot your password, or you want to close your account. 

Analytics Purposes and Customized Advertising 

  • Help identify areas for improvement on our Website and ensure that the changes made are effective.
  • Analyze, personalise and improve EC services, products, promotions and online advertisements. Online advertising channels we may use are: search engine marketing digital display, paid social (Facebook and Instagram) – these are all on third-party sites or platforms. We may provide location-based content according to your preferences.
  • Ensure that content from the Website is optimised for your computer or other devices.
  • Send you marketing updates via email about all the new arrivals, exciting news, special events, online exclusives, promotions, competitions and giveaways. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any email footer on the button. We share your personal information with only MailChimp as our email marketing provider.

An administration fee of £15 will be payable to Être Cécile. We will provide this information within 40 calendar days of receipt of the information request. If you find any inaccuracies, we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely following our internal security policy and the law. 

Sharing your Information
We use third-party platforms to fulfil and deliver your orders, to inform and update you about your order and Site changes with transactional emails, for email marketing purposes to give you information about our new collections, special events, online advertising, customer analytics, website analytics, returns, exchanges, refunds, or IT services. The data is organised operationally to be shared with the required third party only.  

We will check any third party to ensure that they can provide sufficient guarantees regarding the confidentiality and security of your personal information. We will have written contracts with third-party companies which provide assurances regarding the protections that they will give to your personal information and their compliance with our data security standards and international transfer restrictions.

Cookies are very small text files placed on your computer which carry information about your current or previous Site visits. We take children’s privacy seriously. Our customers have to be over 13 years old to subscribe to receive our newsletter and create an account with us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of thirteen (13), please do not submit any Personal Data or provide any information about yourself (e.g. name, address, email address) through the Être Cécile. If we learn, identify or are informed that any information has been received or collected from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Where we store the data?
The data that we collect from you may be transferred and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area (‘EEA’). The staff operating outside the EEA who work for us may also be processing the information or for one of our business partners or suppliers. Any example of transferring your personal data will be treated securely in compliance with applicable laws following this policy. By browsing and registering the Website and submitting your information during the purchase of Items or participation in competitions and other promotional activities, you are accepting to agree to this transfer, storing and processing inside and outside the EEA as stated above.

Security of information
When creating an Être Cécile account or subscribing for the newsletter, make sure you are not using a generic third party email (such as, as this can belong to another person). You must keep all your passwords confidential and not share them with any other person and ensure that your information on the account is always kept updated. If you suspect you have lost your password or somebody else has access to it, you must notify us immediately. 

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet can never be completely secure. To fulfil an order, we need your payment details which are your credit or debit card number, expiry date, additional any security details that the credit card processor may require such as CCV or cardholder address. All the card details processed by our business partner Sage Pay and the data-encrypted and digitally-signed protocol. The Être Cécile website has PCI compliance by SecurityMetrics. 

We may use personal information provided by you in order to conduct appropriate anti-fraud checks. Personal information that you provide may be disclosed to a credit reference or fraud prevention agency, which may keep a record of that information. This is done only to confirm your identity – a credit check is not performed and your credit rating is unaffected.
